meh
Posted : 16 years ago on 13 December 2008 07:08 (A review of Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story)I was very disappointed when I eventually got round to watching this. Alan was a highlight but Stiller over acted and looked annoyed to be there (as he does in all his comedys)

Didnt know what to expect
Posted : 16 years ago on 13 December 2008 06:49 (A review of Romance & Cigarettes )Watched this for the first time yesterday (tho it was on the box for months, just never got round to it) I wish I had sooner-
This was a great movie (but dont know how it will play on a second viewing…)
So whats it all about Shempy…?
Tony Soprano cheats on Susan Sarandon with Kate Winslet… thats pretty much it.
However its a bit of a musical with some underwater Winslet singing (looking stunning) and Christopher Walken and Sarandon dancing as if they were in the rain.
What puzzled me was Soprano and Sarandon had 3 daughters in this movie. One was Mandy Moore, fair enough (the other two were almost the same age as Soprano himself, especially Mary-Louise Parker who was 41 at the time. Not to be swayed by my bungee cord of disbelief being suspended as I didnt mind for my love of Mary-Louise Parker… and her rocking the many hair styles in this movie)
This was written and directed by the sweet lovely John Turturro and from this witty and weird script I’d love to see anything else he’s wrote, and hope he will do more in the future.

oh so pretty!
Posted : 16 years ago on 13 December 2008 06:48 (A review of Amélie)I first watched this ove xmas one year and was in awe at how beautiful it is. (I have found since that Bryan Fullers tv shows look very much like this... very warm, pretty aesthetics with quirky quiet slightly off characters)

Posted : 16 years ago on 13 December 2008 06:37 (A review of Shaun of the Dead)Everything I had hoped from Wright, Pegg and Frost. They clearly LOVE horror movies, but with this they took the zombies into our lives. Theres so much truth in this movie... get to the pub. Simple. True. FUNNY!
